Plogging 2025: Small Actions, Big Impact

Throughout July, Rapport ambassadors across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and New Zealand laced up their trainers and rolled up their sleeves for a series of plogging events. Plogging combines fitness with purpose, bringing people together to jog or walk while collecting litter along the way.

More

What began just four years ago as a small initiative in London has now grown into a truly international movement. This year marked our biggest impact yet:

101 participants
2 continents, 5 countries, 11 cities, 12 locations
4 new cities, including our first in the Southern Hemisphere

From Belfast and Bristol to Dublin, Copenhagen, Geneva, Zurich, Auckland, and Wellington, our ambassadors proved that sustainability knows no borders.

Be The Change in Action

This year’s plogging series was organised by our Be The Change sustainability committee as part of Plastic Free July. This is a global movement that challenges us all to rethink our reliance on single-use plastics. The committee wanted to do more than talk about reducing waste: they wanted to get out into our communities and take real action.

Each event was a reminder that small, collective actions can create meaningful change. Not only did our ambassadors clean up green spaces and city streets, they also sparked conversations about sustainability in a fun, practical, and engaging way.

A Growing Movement

For the first time ever, Rapport ambassadors in New Zealand joined the initiative with events in Auckland and Wellington.

And this is only the beginning. By 2026, our Be The Change committee aims to involve at least 100 volunteers each year, doubling that number to 200 by 2027. These ambitious goals align directly with Rapport’s Environmental and Social Roadmap to 2030, which sets out our priorities for creating meaningful social and environmental impact.

“True environmental change begins at the grassroots, where collective small actions spark powerful movements that protect our planet for generations to come. Our Rapport ambassadors have shown inspiring passion and commitment, proving that together we can build a healthier, more sustainable future.”

Uusi-Rauva Jarkko, Co-Chair of the Be The Change Committee

Looking Ahead

Plogging has quickly become a cornerstone of how we live our values, support Rapport’s ESG objectives, and deliver on our social responsibility goals. Each year, the movement grows stronger, bringing people together and reminding everyone that change is possible when we act with purpose.

Well done everyone involved, and a huge thank you to all lead ploggers organising these fantastic events all over the world.
