Empower is one of our six employee-led resource groups under our Be Yourself umbrella. Their mission is to create an inclusive environment where women and allies come together to share experiences, connect, and empower – discussing challenges women face in and out of the workplace and what we can do to support and learn from each other.
The insightful panel featured Natasha Whitehurst – Global Diversity & Inclusion Leader at Rolls-Royce, Ausrine Slajute – Community Coordinator for Rapport, and Conor Bartley – Head of Customer Service for Rapport. Natasha, Ausrine, and Conor all brought their unique perspectives to the discourse, examining intersectionality, allyship, and corporate responsibility. They shared profound insights into the transformative impact of female leaders on fostering an inclusive culture, and emphasised the crucial role allies play in supporting them.
The evening began with zero-alcohol drinks and delicious themed cupcakes. The event attracted a diverse audience, from front-line team members to leaders within our business. They were truly engaged and did not shy away from difficult questions. When the main event started, the panel delved into specific challenges faced by women in the workplace. They also discussed success strategies, and the imperative to advocate for gender equality.
A huge thank you to this powerful panel for leading us in meaningful conversations on female leadership and fostering inclusive cultures. And thank you to our Empower network for organising this fantastic event.
“This years’ theme was ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and this was the topic of our brilliant event. Huge thank you to everyone that made this conversation possible. Let’s make sure that we foster inclusion beyond today. Let’s make sure that every day we create a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.”
