Thrive in 25: Mental Health First Aider Forum

At Rapport, fostering a culture of wellbeing and support is an important part of who we are. Our collective commitment to this supportive culture was clear at our inaugural Thrive in 25: Mental Health First Aider Forum, where over 50 of our Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs) came together for a day of connection, learning and reflection.

The Mental Health First Aider forum opened with an engaging workshop from leadership and wellbeing expert Charlotte Wiseman and her team at Step Inside Group. The focus of this workshop was about how to support others in practical and meaningful ways. In the afternoon, our MHFAs took time to reconnect, reflect, and recharge through mindfulness and peer-led activities.

We were also proud to welcome clients and colleagues to the forum. Their presence reflected our shared responsibility in creating mentally healthy workplaces. Having trained MHFAs on-site brings value not only to Rapport ambassadors, but also to the wider teams and clients we support every day.

“It was really valuable to bring so many of our MHFA team together and recognise the caring community we’ve built. The day showed us the real power of connection and how coming together helps us support each other and promote wellbeing across our workplaces. It was also a great chance to say thank you for the important role everyone plays. We left feeling inspired, connected, and ready to make an even bigger difference.”

Clare Crosland, L&D Business Partner, and MHFA Lead

Since launching our MHFA community in 2019, we have aimed to train at least one Mental Health First Aider per ten ambassadors. We have exceeded this, with 127 active MHFA’s across the business. Our MHFAs come from all areas of the business, from frontline roles to head office, and each play a vital part in helping to build a caring and inclusive culture.

Our MHFAs also take part in monthly catch-ups and refresher training, helping them stay informed, connected, and confident in their roles. They contribute to wellbeing campaigns, internal resources, and awareness events. Often working quietly behind the scenes, they make a real difference, one conversation at a time.

Together, we are working to break down stigma, promote mental wellbeing, and create a workplace where everyone can thrive.
